TUITION: Lesson tuition must be paid one month in advance, and is due on/or before the 1st. of each month. Don’t forget that some months have 5 classes, and the tuition will be higher when those months occur. ALL TUITION IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
LATE FEE: Payments are considered late, if they are received after the 1st. day of each month, and you will be charged a late fee. Unless you have made arrangements with us, we will add $30 late fee to your monthly tuition, if you pay after the 1st. of the month.
HOLIDAYS: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Other days off will be announced as necessary. We may also take a week off in the spring, summer, Thanksgiving week, and in December.
INSTRUMENT PRACTICE AND STUDIO EXPECTATIONS: Students are expected to practice a minimum of 30 minutes at least 5 days a week. If you wish to progress more quickly, the student should plan on one hour of daily practice. Eventually, you will need to practice a minimum of 1 hour daily. Students are expected to: Bring required lesson materials and books to each lesson. Complete practice and written assignments. The Studio will provide the Student with verbal or written warnings of breaches in Studio Expectations, and the Student will have the opportunity to correct or rectify such breaches. Repeated or frequent breaches may result in termination of lessons.
RECITALS: We offer two studio recitals per year. All students are expected to participate in the recitals. Recitals are a way for students to share their progress with their families and friends. Due to COVID-19, we are doing virtual recitals via Zoom. All Zoom or Video Conferencing recitals are free. When we resume in-person recitals, we will require a minimal fee to help pay for venue costs. All recitals via Zoom or in-person are recorded.
RETURNED CHECKS: We charge a $35 fee for returned checks regardless of the reason.
INCREASE IN TUITION: Tuition fees are subject to an annual increase of 5%, upon 30 days written notice to Student.
MISSED OR MAKE UP CLASSES: Activities such as: family vacations, field trips, spring breaks, doctor and dentist appointments, and sports events do not qualify for a reduction in piano tuition. The tuition you pay reserves your day & time. However, if you cancel, 24 hours, before your lesson, we will try to make up the lesson. We have limited spaces for in-person lessons therefore, all make up lessons for in-person students will be done via Zoom or FaceTime.
LATE FOR LESSONS: We will wait 10 minutes for you, unless you have notified us that you are running late. Remember, if you show up late, you will only receive the remainder of your lesson time.
TO DISCONTINUE (or take a break) from lessons: A parent or adult student must inform the studio with a one month written notice before the 5th of the month, to count for that same month. A one month payment is expected whether the student attends their last month or not. For example: if you give us notice, on March 1-5, you would pay for March and end your lessons at the end of March. However, if you give us notice on March 6th, or later in the month, you would have to pay for March and April, even if you don’t attend any lessons.
DUE TO COVID-19, ONLY THE STUDENT IS ALLOWED TO ENTER OUR MUSIC STUDIO. PARENTS, SIBLINGS, OR GUARDIAN ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE STUDIO. ONE PARENT MAY BE ALLOWED IN OUR WAIT ROOM IF THE STUDENT IS VERY YOUNG. FACE MASK IS REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS.
PROBATION: A 30 day probation will be given for any of the following reasons: Paying your tuition late, not being prepared at the lessons, not showing improvement, not willing to try my suggestions, poor attendance, not bringing books and materials, behaving poorly, or disrespectful, in the wait area, recitals, and/or at the lesson.
TERMINATION: The Studio may also terminate lessons for any reason, at the sole discretion of the studio. If the Studio terminates lessons, TUITION WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.
